What is Carbon Monoxide? How does it occur?

All burnable material has carbon in it. If it burns, the combustion process often results in incomplete burning or burning in a manner that the Carbon base produces the gas known as “CARBON MONOXIDE”.

In a household, what are the common sources of Carbon Monoxide?

Smoke from a cigarette, burning of gas in your furnace, burning of wood in your fireplace, an electrical fire or exhaust seeping into your home from your car. When enough Carbon Monoxide (CO) accumulates and you breathe it, after a period of time you will suffer CO effects.

What are the effects of CO poisoning?

At first a headache, dizziness, feeling faint, vomiting and finally death. How is this caused? Through breathing CO into your lungs, the CO is absorbed into your blood. The CO gradually replaces more and more of the oxygen in your blood. Your red blood cells absorb CO 200 times faster than it absorbs oxygen. There is no medicine to help you. You must get fresh air into your lungs at once so oxygen can replace the CO in your blood. If not, death usually follows, as our body system cannot tolerate much CO. And through feeling faint, weak, and resulting semi-consciousness one does not have the strength to help themselves nor their family members.

How to prevent the danger of breathing in too much CO?

Through early detection of the presence of CO by using a dependable CO detector.

Reasons why our CO detectors are better than our competitors

Quality, reliability and sensitivity. Our detectors will detect and warn you through a loud 85db Alarm. When CO is present and measures a mere 100-PPM (parts per million), and unit CO-110 & CO-220 detects CO, it will turn on the warning signal. It is designed for use in single-family homes, apartments, factories and garages. Our Model CO-110 & Model CO-220 are CE (EMC & LVD) approved, and are within UL2034 Standardsalso within ROHS Standards.
